Marlands in Rochdale

Hi
I am a Marland and my father was from Rochdale his name is Howard Grant with a brother Roger, his dad is Alan and he had 3 brothers their mother was called Alma.

My son is the last Marland of my Grandad to carry the surname on and we live in Sunderland and there are only 2 here!!!

I'm showing this to my dad who is currenlty in hoispital with a terminal illness, to cheer him up. We have heard many stories about where we come from including rumours os Herod the Wake and Lady Guidiver!!!!
