Marlands in Victoria, Australia. Need Help to Trace Roots.

posted by Ray Marland(R), 11.02.2010, 02:48

Hi Rebecca,

All the Marlands buried in the Barkly Cem.(which is about 20 miles from Avoca),are of my family.
Grandparents,parents, aunts, uncles...all are inter-related
Our family can be traced back, comfortably, to John/Ruth Robinson, who married 1722 in Ashton, Lancs.

My reading of Clyde's predecessors, also traces his family back to John/Ruth, but via an entirely different route.
It's a long time since I started tracking Clyde's family, but I seem to recall mentions of Singapore, and Fremantle, along the way.

The Argus clipping was very interesting. I have the idea that George remarried Mary Lumsden in 1887, but I have no children listed for them.

Ray Marland.
